lyrics
Greyhounds never look like what they tell you on the fliers
But economy's alright so I'll lay my head back and tire myself out a little more
And idly wait for the pills to kick in
I'm beginning to feel like somebody else again
And then I fall asleep and my head goes back to Fred Meyers
Aiken and I were buying groceries and someone hit his tires unaware
We waited in the lot to find he was a drunk guy with a couple of kids
He gave us a hundred bucks and said "I won't do it again"
He said I truly apologize I buried my wife earlier today
But he stumbled with a rack of Busch in his hands and his face told me several different things
I don't know if you lied but if you didn't I'm sorry
And if you did then pardon me, but fuck you
And then I wake up in the station next to Century Link Field
Grabbed my Angel Olsen ticket and my bag and I had a feeling about you
That's lingered all week long even after what happened
And I hold onto it or else I really start to panic
Next thing I know I'm about to go into the show with my good friend Alex
But I forgot my ticket in his car so I walked back in the alley and saw her standing there
Angel Olsen was with her boyfriend and she saw her face it was on my shirt
But that moment went by too fast she walked past and I couldn't get out a word
And then I'm back in the Neptune and I tell Alex about it and he's like "cool"
I expressed my regret over the interaction and he's like "hey man let's just listen to some tunes"
So we did and Angel played all of her hits except "Unfucktheworld"
She looked tired she said so herself but she played well and we were enamoured
After the show, Alex and I walked back ....
...... we stood astounded at all the broken glass
My backpack under my jacket with the laptop wasn't there
We called the cops and waited for hours but something in the air told me I'd lost this one
And so we sat and talked under the Chipotle light for hours
I said out of anger I'd write a song about this
